Janet,
I enjoyed this post very much. Stone lovers are a bit nostalgic and the care and attention given to produce this sake is appreciated. I make small batchs of beer with two friends and reading this I reflected on why the process is so satisfing.
We create a new and interesting label for each batch and give them to friends( as well as saving a few for our selves). It is hugely popular but largely unavailable, leading us to define our" marketing plan as "creating a demand for a product you can not get". I had to laugh when I realized you have done just that as well!

Best Wishes for a Wonderful New Year

I don't think anyone does import it, unfortunately. I had thought of ordering some from Daizo-san but we decided the cost of shipping would be prohibitive, if it is even possible to ship it legally. (And besides, I'd need to do it anonymously or it would be turned into a very expensive gift !).

Looks like a wonderful place to visit. Any idea if anyone imports it into the US? I'd love to taste some of Mas' family's sake. Bet it tastes better than one of his fine art pieces. . . :)
